Detailed Job Description
The Bus Driver is responsible for delivering safe, reliable, and sustainable transport across regional and rural Australia for DFR. Applicants need to be prepared to work a rotating roster (generally 2 weeks on, 1 week off) and drive staff to various locales around Australia to underpin regional events and recruiting efforts. More detailed information regarding working patterns will be discussed during the recruitment process.
You will:
- Deliver a prompt, reliable and safe transport service.
- Carry out pre-departure, travel and post departure safety checks on vehicle, reporting and escalating any mechanical or general issues immediately.
- Drive with the safety and comfort of passengers at top of mind, seeking the most efficient but safest route to required destination.
- Identify, address and report unsafe or unhealthy conditions, practices or behaviour in the workplace, following internal Adecco DFR processes.
- Maintain current knowledge of local road laws in each State and Territory travelling through, as well as Company policies relating to Workplace Health and Safety, and Security.
- Accurately complete recording procedures, including daily journal, time records, customer loading data, and fuel and charter records, as required.
- Maintain agility and adaptability whilst working in a fast-paced environment.
- Maintain Basic Fatigue Management Accreditation.
- Ensure candidate experience is delivered to the highest possible standard, and that compliance is met in all instances.
- Develop, manage and maintain a high service level client relationship through the provision of services that meet or exceed the expectations of Defence and the DFR Adecco contract, further encouraging a strong and ongoing relationship between Adecco and the Commonwealth of Australia.
Candidate’s Profile
To be successful in this role, you will meet the following criteria:
- Be an Australian Citizen
- Hold a current Heavy Rigid Driving License
- Basic Fatigue Management Accreditation (regarded but not required)
- Must be able to complete/maintain a Police-check, Baseline Security Clearance, Working with Children Check (or state/territory equivalent)
Your background will demonstrate:
- Experience delivering safe and reliable bus transport delivery in a customer centric environment. A demonstrated customer centric approach to your work
- Safe and reliable driving record
- Experience operating a bus on either short or long-haul journeys.
- Pride and adherence to cleanliness and presentation standards of the bus and your own grooming standards.
