The School
Penleigh and Essendon Grammar School has over 2900 students from K-12 at campuses in Moonee Ponds, Essendon and Keilor East. The role
We seek an experienced Bus Driver and Grounds Assistant to perform bus driving duties and provide Grounds Assistant support to our Facilities Team based at the Keilor Campus. This is a full-time fixed term replacement position effective immediately until 13 December 2024.
Reporting to the Facilities Manager, the main focus of the role will be:
- Driving the school bus to transport students as required to other campuses including our camp at Eildon, to sports and other events throughout the week.
- General labouring tasks, including moving furniture, stationery, food deliveries and equipment
- Gardening, including planting, mowing,watering, raking leaves, etc.
- Cleaning/emptying bins, putting bins out for collection and liaising with waste collection services as required
- Accessing roofs using appropriate safety equipment to clean gutters and remove balls, etc.
- Basic maintenance tasks, including checking faults as requested, changing light bulbs, pick-ups and deliveries; and responding to urgent cleaning requests, including unblocking toilets.
- Assisting trades personnel with tasks as required.
- Painting and graffiti removal, as required
- Regular safety checks of the grounds and play equipment and reporting hazards
- Under supervision, checking compliance of fire and emergency equipment including maintaining records of inspections and reporting any concerns to the Facilities Manager.
- Unlocking and securing areas of the campus as required.
