• Natural Areas maintenance (weed control and regeneration) 
• Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD)
• Fire and fuel management including fire access lines (FALS) and post/pre burn requirements 
• Revegetation
• Waterbody maintenance 
• Rubbish management 

About the role

The successful applicant will be expected be part of a crew to deliver bush regeneration outcomes and support revegetation projects. Activities will include herbicide application, revegetation, vegetation management, wetland maintenance and erosion control. Primary purpose of a Bush Regenerator at Activeco will be to undertake high quality conservation maintenance, bush regeneration/revegetation and various other ecological restoration activities. 

Skills and Experience               

Cert III Conservation and Land Management (Natural Area Restoration) or equivalent experience and;

Experience and knowledge as an employed bush regenerator (min 12mths)

To be successful in this role you will have:

• ACDC or Chemcert
• White Card
• First Aid/CPR
• Willingness and ability to work in various locations throughout south-east Queensland. (e.g. Logan, Brisbane, Moreton Bay)
• Demonstrate sound communication skills
• Well-developed knowledge of and identification skills of weeds of south-east Queensland.
• A commitment to conducting safe work practises 
• Demonstrated experience and knowledge of ecological restoration including assisted regeneration, revegetation and large scale weed control in accordance with the Southeast Queensland Ecological Restoration Framework 
• Practical knowledge of bush regeneration methods and site assessment
• Physically fit, motivated, and capable of working in challenging outdoor environments
• Self-motivated, passionate, friendly, proactive, professional with a positive attitude
• reliable and punctual with a high level of integrity and a sound understanding of appropriate behaviours in the workplace
• Knowledge of operation and troubleshooting 2 stroke machines. Eg brush cutters, chainsaw etc

Desirable Criteria

• Australian Association of Bush Regenerators (AABR) accreditation or involvement in other industry networks
• 4WD competency and load restraint 
• Chainsaw competency Level 1 or 2
• Excavator and skid steer tickets
