The Opportunity:
The Department of Defence is in the process of implementing an ambitious yet realistic reform program for maintaining the RAN’s surface fleet. Central to this initiative is the Maritime Sustainment Model (MSM), which emphasises the adoption of standardised contracts, plans, processes, guides, procedures, and ICT tools throughout the Maritime Enterprise. Establishing this sovereign sustainment capability is crucial to ensuring Defence is equipped with the necessary workforce, systems, tools, supply chains, and infrastructure to sustain the future fleet and operations effectively.
An experienced Business Analyst is required to assist the Directorate of Maritime Engineering and Logistics in enhancing business operations, implement new business models, improve existing processes through streamlining and reengineering, and provide change management support to drive strategy execution.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with diverse teams and utilise process improvement tools and methods to establish accurate process workflows
Analyse, document, and propose future processes and solutions in the Maritime domain
Monitor and evaluate the efficacy of business solutions to ensure they align with operational requirements
Improve business processes through re-engineering and ongoing enhancements to drive process maturity
Utilise a practical set of Business Process Model Notation (BPMN) standards and process modelling tools to ensure that processes in training services are consistently documented
Design processes at both high and low levels using lean methodology, ensuring compliance with governance and architecture standards in future state process documentation
What you bring:
Hold an active Baseline AGSVA Security Clearance
Tertiary education in business, management, or related field
Proven track record as a talented Business Analyst with knowledge of Maritime Logistics/Supply-Support practices and processes
Deep understanding of MS Office products, business process tools and ability to create complex flow and logic diagrams
