ABOUT THE ROLE
We currently have an exciting opportunity available within our Newcastle Business Development team - as we seek a highly motivated, committed, and ambitious individual, capable of developing new business opportunities within the domestic transport segment.
As a new business representative your primary responsibilities will include;
- A focus on cold calling, getting in front of the right customers and maintaining appropriate activity levels to grow and maintain a healthy pipeline of prospective customer.
- Build, prepare, and present tailored service and pricing proposals for our customers in response to their needs.
- A focus on achieving (and with support - exceeding) your individual annual new business sales target set by the business.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with our internal teams to deliver the level of service our customers have come to know and expect of us.
- Closely manage your newly gained customers to ensure a long-term business relationship and to maximise your branches revenue growth.
- Work collaboratively with the wider Mainfreight team to uncover additional opportunities across our broader supply chain activities.
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate:
- A positive attitude, willingness to learn, belief in themselves to succeed, and strong work ethic.
- Immaculate presentation and competent business acumen
- Strong (EQ) emotional intelligence.
- A strong planner who is self-motivated and enjoys working autonomously – as well as part of a team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A total focus on quality and attention to detail
- An interest to understand all transport functionalities within Australia.
- Customer is King mindset.
- A team player is a must!
