Be the front line seller who drives sales, identifying and generating opportunities for different kinds of customers. You will foster client satisfaction by maintaining regular customer contact and managing customer expectations. You will develop customer relationships through coordinating and/or attending trade shows, seminar, and similar events. You will provide education of Honeywell product through technical presentations. You will maintain, and provide reports and opportunity status using our customer relationship management system. You will provide competitive intelligence and market trends. You will provide forecast/demand input to Sales Inventory Operations Planning (SIOP).

We are currently seeking a Business Development Manager to join our Honeywell Process Solutions team - to be based out of our Perth office.

Reporting to the Pacific Growth Director your focus will be being the primary frontline customer interface, with responsibility for the development of business, and management of relationships, with new customers EPC's and potential partners of Honeywell.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Relationships: Develop and sustain long term customer, EPC and partner relationships; Establish these relationships while engaging customers at all levels including senior levels of the customer organization; Early engagement in the customer buying process diagnosing customer's needs and tailoring solutions to match; Will network within the customer account and industry.

Sales Process: Manage the day to day and strategic: maintaining a balanced approach to superior customer service and strategic account planning; quarterly results and long term account goals; Identify new sales opportunities and focuses on providing consultative support by building value propositions for solutions into the account; Manage and build customer contacts, serving as the customer's ambassador, trusted advisor, and advocate; Focal point for relationship strategies, account and sales plans, proposal strategies, contract negotiations, etc.

Customers: Engage technical buyers, economic buyers, and relationship buyers; engage customers at all levels in an organization including executive level decision makers; responsible for account retention and penetration.

Key Experience & Capabilities:

  • Minimum of university degree level or equivalent
  • Minimum 10 years' experience within the automation industry, preferably with experience across instrumentation, automation & advanced applications
  • Strong knowledge of the markets we serve and ones we want to serve · Knowledge and experience selling DCS, PLC, SIS
  • Experienced in the use of CRM tools, Account Planning tools, Strategic Selling methodologies and Target Account Selling
  • Experience in solution sales
  • Proven track record of success in industry/ business environment
  • Experience in building and maintaining relations at customers (different levels)
  • Experienced in complex sale, including early engagement in the customer buying cycle at senior levels, building long-term strategic and executive relationships, team selling and opportunity planning.
  • Marketing and project management experience is desirable.
  • Previous working experience in a complex organization
