About the business and the role
Our Client based in Geelong is a premier online family butcher, supplying the Geelong community for over 40 years with the meat and small goods made the traditional way.
They are now seeking a Butcher or Production Assistant to join the team who shares a passion for the meat industry and the butchering trade. Qualification is not necessary as we will provide on-job training. This role would be suitable for a person with previous commercial kitchen experience looking for more work / life balance with Monday to Friday daytime work, or someone with previous packaging experience with a keen interest in food.
Duties and Responsibilities
Selecting and preparing meat products by cutting & trimming
Breaking of carcass meat
Processing and packing of orders
Stock rotation
Operating meat cutting equipment and tools
Display widow preparations for retail display
Maintain Food Safety & Occupational Health and Safety Standards
Skills and Experience
Production Assistant/Butcher/Farm Hand and experienced apprentices encouraged to apply
Basic knowledge of small goods, meats and other deli/butcher items
Food or meat handling, preparation and packing
Knowledge of meat cuts and preparation methods
operate and maintain meat cutting equipment
