Located in Campbellfield, Victoria, Hike Caravans is an Australian caravan manufacturer that builds quality caravans from the ground up. They are one of the very few caravan brands to feature aluminium caravans which are designed to last well past the life of a traditional timber frame caravan.
They now seek an experienced Cabinet Maker to join their team.
The Role
This is a full time role with an annual salary of $70,000-$80,000 plus superannuation.
The Responsibilities
Some tasks may include
Construct and assemble cabinet components, making sure that all pieces fit the dimensions specified by clients
Frame caravan shell and flooring for the caravan.
Caravan building
Quality analysis of cabinets, shells and floor
Verify and double check all calculations to ensure alignment of doors, hinges and side panels, using blueprints for reference
Clean and repair all equipment necessary for your work, including handsaws, table saws, skill saws, and a variety of drills and sanding tools
Install the appropriate hardware, such as hinges and handles, and order replacement materials when needed
Select the appropriate materials, fittings, and tools for various cabinet making and installation in caravans
Create standard and custom components of cabinets
Gather the elements of each cabinet and assembling the final product into caravans
Apply sealant, varnish, and paint to cabinets
Match materials and grains to create a uniform appearance for all the matching units
Reinforce joints and attachments to maximize sturdiness and durability without compromising aesthetic appeal and functionality
Inspect each completed item to ensure that it has been constructed accurately, and that the necessary finishes have been applied
Repair elements of cabinets that have been sent in for servicing
The Requirements:
Relevant cabinet making trade qualifications
At least 2 years' experience in a commercial/professional capacity
at least 2 years' experience in caravan fittings and cabinetry fabrication and installation
Strong ability to read and interpret blueprint drawings
Must have construction white card and manual handling awareness certificate
