Located in Mount Barker, Top Line Furniture has been providing clients with high-quality cabinetry for over 10 years and are seeking an experienced Cabinet Maker to join our team in a full-time position. The primary responsibilities of this role include (but are not limited to):
- Examining designs, drawings and parts to determine specifications. Measuring, cutting and joining melamine, timber and other products
- A committed and detail-driven approach to all allocated tasks, working safely at all times and reporting progress to a supervisor and/or manager
- Manufacturing and assembling high-quality cabinetry and joinery units in the workshop/warehouse
- Installation of pre-assembled cabinetry in new or renovated spaces, both residential and commercial (i.e., kitchens, laundries, bathrooms, home offices, entertainment units, office fit outs, etc)
Applicants should hold a Certificate III in Cabinet Making, a Trade Certificate in Cabinet Making and/or another equivalent qualification/experience. As a result, applicants must hold a current White Card and must be able to demonstrate proficiency in the following essential skills:
- Experience working with hardware and machines (i.e., Table Saw, Drop Saw, Thicknesser, Router, Panel Saw, CNC Machine, Edge Bander, etc)
- Demonstrated ability to understand and interpret plans for manufacture
- Extensive experience manufacturing/working with melamine products and materials
- Extensive experience building cabinets and drawers
- Experience fitting accessories (i.e., lemans units, tandem pantries, etc)
- Experience fitting appliances, integrated or otherwise
- Experience and competency making and utilising jigs
- Willingness to learn (i.e., learning to work with and manufacture various materials)
- Demonstration of initiative and problem-solving skills
Additionally, the following skills and experience are highly desirable in this role:
- Experience with solid timber, Corian and other materials (i.e., sanding, finishing, gluing and machining)
- Existing or willingness to obtain forklift licence (High Risk Work Licence)
- Ability to complete curved work, or willingness to learn the skills required to complete curved work
- Ability to drive a manual vehicle
- Ability to assist with training apprentices
