Our Community Development team is looking for Cadet Draftsperson/Designers.
Although no previous experience is required, we are on the hunt for passionate people who enjoy modelling, designing and drafting and are able to demonstrate a commitment to continued learning.
As a Cadet Designer, you will work on community development projects and –
- Learn all facets of CAD, drafting and design techniques and gain skills in relevant computer programs.
- Work under the guidance of our Engineers and Designers on civil engineering projects; and
- Provide accurate and efficient drafting services for the Business Unit in accordance with project times and budgets, with detailed supervision.
- Obtain existing infrastructure information using GIS, Dial Before You Dig, as-constructed drawings and reports, and other relevant software programs and tools.
- Liasing with local government authorities
- Develop communication skills with relevant authorities and sub-contractors
- Undertaking design and drawings to relevant authority and local government standards
About you:
To be successful you will display –
- Limited experience or a keen interest in drafting and design in the mechanical, structural or piping space
- An ability to gain and apply knowledge of engineering drawing techniques and CAD packages
- Intermediate skills in MS Office (MS Word and MS Excel)
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work within a team environment
- An ability to problem solve and manage your time effectively
Educational and work experience that is preferred include:
- Diploma of Engineering Technical (completed or undertaking), and/or
- Advanced Diploma of Engineering (completed or undertaking) and/or
- Associate Degree in Civil Engineering (completed or undertaking)
