Job description

The Position

Your role will be to lead with enthusiasm, passion and personality supervising all aspects of a caféteria in the heart of our head office in Melbourne.

You will become a force for good within our organisation, sharing in our brands vision and finding ways to bring it to life for our office staff and external patrons daily through excellent service, interdepartmental collaborations, and staff events.

Your role will require you to effectively lead a small team to support our goal of providing a welcoming space to allow our guests to feel nourished, through high quality wholefood offerings and meaningful authentic service, creating a haven for our staff to feel valued and appreciated.

Full Time – Monday to Friday (7am – 3pm)

Restaurant Industry Award Level 5 Food & Beverage Supervisor

No working nights, weekends or public holidays

Daily Caféteria Management:

  • Ensure a consistently excellent customer experience
  • Maintain budgets around COGS, staffing, employee engagement etc
  • Maintain the consistency and high quality of our service in all aspects including staff, service, food and offerings
  • Make daily sandwiches and all food prep
  • Maintain and update the menu, food safety and food preparation standards when required
  • Manage front of house responsibilities, register and POS station and lead the team in creating a smooth and harmonious café atmosphere
  • Represent our social enterprise to a range of external stakeholders, including customers, corporates, churches, industry and World Vision Australia for catering needs when required
  • End-of-day duties, cash handling, sales reporting and banking procedures
  • Working with the Operations Lead to develop and implement an annual budget that articulates all commercial and social enterprise goals
  • Develop the café menu, working within our brand, experimenting with new and seasonal ideas and exploring new offers for customers
  • Provide supportive leadership, training, performance management and support your staff

Who we’re looking for

We are looking for someone with previous hospitality management experience who enjoys building and leading others and has a strong service and delivery focus.

You will also have:

  • Thorough knowledge and competency in all areas of day to day café operations (light cooking, sandwich preparation, catering, coffee, service, cleaning)
  • Relationship management and customer service experience
  • Basic use of Excel and Word software
  • Tertiary qualification in hospitality management or hospitality trade certificate or equivalent
