AddressBased in Dandenong this newly created position will initially take responsibility for the transition of existing CNC programming from Excel based macros or via the machine controller to utilise Esprit Edge CAM as the primary driver of our CNC machines.
Your experience will likely have come from a machine shop background where you have competence in programming and operating CNC machine centres to a high level of efficiency and accuracy.
You will be proficient in English at a technical level , work well independently and as part of a team when necessary . The ability to communicate well across all levels of the business will be important.
Your role will include : -
- Using Esprit Edge CAM to produce CNC Programs to meet HOERBIGER best practice machining strategies
- Converting existing drawings/process sheets to Autodesk Inventor using HOERBIGER KT CAD tools
- Producing necessary programs in alignment with the requirements of the Melbourne production schedule
- Optimising speeds, feeds and machining strategy to produce products that meet specifications as efficiently as possible
- Establishing tool libraries and tool management strategy
- Operating CNC Lathes & Milling Machines where necessary as required
Your Education , IT Knowledge and Experience
- Qualified Fitter & Turner or Toolmaker
- CNC/CAD/CAM training - preferably Mazak/Esprit Edge/Autodesk Inventor
- Minimum 5 years experience in programming and operating CNC machining centers for metal working
- Experience applying CAM software in jobbing/manufacturing environment to produce CNC programs
- Familiar with CNC Lathes with live tooling as well as vertical milling machines - preferably Mazak experience
- Familiarity with Autodesk Inventor or similar CAD software
- Experience with CNC machine controllers - preferably Mazatrol
- Microsoft 365 software - Teams/Sharepoint/Outlook/Excel, etc.
You will succeed in this role if you can bring your attention to detail plus trade and technical skills with your experience to drive improvements and efficiencies within our environment.
