CAM Programming Specialist

A CAM Programming Specialist at Geographe is the ideal role for an Individual with a hunger for automation, efficiencies and improving upon the status quo.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to optimize our machining strategies, design and create unique, practicable, and modern engineering solutions for our CNC and CAM programs.

• Designing programs for CNC Machines.
• SolidWorks experience is essential.
• CAM Programming experience using SolidCAM software is desired.
• G-code understanding, long-hand programming, macro programming.
• CAD modelling, fixture design, cutting tooling design.
• Continual improvement of production programs.
• Optimisation of machining strategies and tooling selection.
• Familiarity with the requirements of AS1100 (Technical Drawing).
• Collaborating with a diverse environment of people on the workshop floor.
• Participate in & facilitate Programming cross-training.

1. A recognised mechanical engineering, trade, drafting qualification or extensive experience Trade Qualification in Manufacturing or Engineering
2. Proven CAM Programming Experience
3. Understanding of Manufacturing specifications, such as manufacturing drawings, manufacturing procedures, dimensions, topological or generic description of parts
4. A high level of attention to detail
5. Previous design drafting & CAD Modelling required (SolidWorks)
6. Good working knowledge of manufacturing techniques
7. Excellent numerical and trigonometric skills
