Job description

The Great Regional City Challenge (GRCC) has since 2019 raised over $500,000 in funds and support to identify and assist over 30 innovative projects to make Launceston one of the great regional cities of the world.

On August 4th, 2024 we will conduct a GRCC Launceston Challenge Day, where 50-60 individuals, employers, employees and organisation members will set a vision for how the community can help make Launceston one of the great regional cities of the world. As an input to this Day, GRCC will hold 2-hour idea sessions during April 2024 in all 6 sections of Launceston.

Then we will campaign to raise funds to identify, support and fund the community led projects that the GRCC Launceston Challenge Day has identified.

To help maximise our impact, we have created an opportunity for a flexible, result-focussed Campaign Coordinator.

This is a newly created casual family-friendly role. The position is accountable to the Chair on behalf of the GRCC Committee. While your work tasks can largely be handled remotely and there is flexibility in how you manage your contracted hours, you will be expected to regularly update on activities within the Operational Plan. There will be after hours and weekend work with reimbursement of out-of-pocket expenses.

What we are looking for

A quick learner who will be expected to dive into working with our time-poor volunteers to make the campaign a success

A professional, enthusiastic, self-motivated, and organised person, who will manage - via email - interactions with facilitators and ideas sessions’ participants, and then for the Launceston Challenge Day

Someone who can assist our communications agency and promotion committee members to publicise all events via print, TV, publicity and social media

Someone who is comfortable and appropriate when engaging with committee members and other stakeholders - all from a wide range of backgrounds.

Someone with sound commonsense who can assist in identifying commercial, networking and funding opportunities.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Need to be detail oriented and able to input data accurately
• Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to follow instructions effectively
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as a member of our energetic and passionate small team
• Ability to handle multiple tight deadlines and prioritise appropriately
• Sound digital literacy skills who is highly proficient in Microsoft Office, social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube) and with demonstrated ability to quickly learn new systems
• Ensure transparent and timely communication with the GRCC Committee
• Work directly and supportively alongside any/all Committee members and other volunteers throughout the lead-up to, during and then post the GRCC Launceston Challenge Day held on 4 August 2024.

Ideal candidate - possesses these skills/characteristics

Previous experience in a campaign coordination/events coordination environment or similar - where skills are transferrable and demonstrated by example

You must have a full driver’s licence, access to your own vehicle, and be willing to use your own car for work purposes

Salary/Benefits
