The Campus Timetabler oversees the academic timetable's development, ensuring optimal student and staff experience and efficient use of teaching spaces. Responsibilities include configuring and maintaining the timetabling and allocation software, Syllabus Plus and Allocate Plus, offering expert support to faculty timetablers and other users of the University’s timetabling software, and enhancing database and process functionality. Collaborating with Infrastructure and Property teams, the role aligns teaching spaces with pedagogical goals, identifies delivery requirements, and advises on changes. As a Campus Timetabler, you will:

  • Support the day-to-day running of the University’s timetable and associated software
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders associated with the University’s timetabling process
  • Offer expert advice on the use of the University’s timetabling software
  • Develop and implement process improvements for the University’s timetabling function
  • Ensure campus teaching facilities are utilised efficiently
  • Provide insight into the use of campus facilities to other University stakeholders

To be successful, you’ll have:

  • An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining timetabling systems within a University environment and / or experience in becoming proficient with a specialised software system within a short timeframe.
  • Demonstrated experience in identifying process improvement opportunities and working with others to deliver process improvement outcomes.
  • High level information technology skills, particularly in complex databases, data structures and MS Excel.
