About the role

South West Healthcare (SWH) is seeking a seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Registered Nurse for the permanent full time position as Cancer Services Manager (CSM) within our Oncology Unit.

The CSM is responsible for the effective and efficient management of the human, physical and financial resources within cancer services at SWH. The CSM actively leads the team in a consultative, collaborative and participative manner ensuring well planned and coordinated cancer services are delivered to patients/clients and their families. The CSM provides operational and strategic leadership to foster patient focused and outcome directed cancer services. The CSM works collaboratively with key stakeholders both internal and external to SWH.

What you bring
  • A Registered Nurse will require a current registration with AHPRA.
  • Role models the South West Healthcare values.
  • A minimum of five years Oncology post-graduate nursing experience.
  • Relevant post graduate/tertiary qualifications in Management or working towards.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of issues related to service and workforce planning which are responsive to current and future service needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and support a team with strategic planning and vision in line with the organisation.
  • Experience in aspects of human resource management including timely recruitment, selection and performance planning and review.
  • Demonstrated experience in the ability to lead, consult and establish relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including proven negotiation and delegation skills, to cultivate productive working relationships.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of organisational structures and processes.
  • Expert knowledge of clinical systems that promote safe patient care.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the principles of patient centred care and consumer engagement.
  • Demonstrated ability in Quality Improvement and risk focused approach to decision making.
  • Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development of self and staff.
