About Our Facility
Barwon health is the major regional health provide for the Barwon South Western Region. It is Victoria's largest regional health service and one of the busiest Hospitals in the State. We serve a population of over 500,000 through the efforts of over 8,000 staff and more than 1,200 volunteers. We provide care at all stages of life and circumstances through a wide range of services from emergency and acute, to mental health, primary care, community services, aged care and subacute/rehabilitation. Care is provided to the community through over 21 key locations throughout the region.
About the Andrew Love Cancer Centre (ALCC)
The ALCC is a comprehensive cancer centre that has provided expert care to those affected by cancer in Geelong and the broader Barwon South West Region since 1992.
The service gives adults, living in the region, access to world class cancer treatment. Based in Geelong we have state of the art facilities, equipment and highly skilled health professionals who provide personalised, patient centred and effective care. Chemotherapy, haematology and radiotherapy services are all provide at ALCC.
About the role
The primary objective of the role is to provide leadership in the planning and delivery of high quality Cancer Services within Barwon Health and the region, whilst developing professional and collaborative partnerships in the overall management of the department. The position has a key influential role in the oversight, operational management and development of Cancer Services, in consultation with senior medical staff and clinical leads. Reporting to the Co-Director of Medicine & Emergency Directorate, the position supports and mentors clinical leaders in analysis, planning and development of Cancer services to achieve the strategic objectives of the Clinical Directorate, Barwon Health and the Department of Health.
