We are seeking a Canteen Site Chef to join our team at a leading private school on Sydney's Northshore. This role is perfect for a parent with school aged children, or someone looking to have better work life balance.

The Details:
- 38 hours per week - permanent part time role
- 40-42 weeks per year - school terms only - school holidays off
- Shifts between 6am – 3:30pm (weekdays – no weekends)
- Payrate $34 - $35 per hour plus Super

Responsibilities and Duties:
- Operate an efficient and compliant kitchen
- Preparation and presentation of daily hot meals & snacks for students K to Y12 and faculty
- Heating prepared product
- Baking muffins, cookies and seasonal specials
- Stock ordering, rotation and stocktaking
- Ad hoc catering for small school events and dinners
- Oversee and direct a supporting chef
- Maintain a clean working environment and adhere to food hygiene and safety practices
- Work in a small team environment to achieve a fast, effective service with a consistent offering and positive attitude

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- 2 years' experience in kitchens, catering and food preparation. Experience in school or university an advantage
- Trade qualification in Commercial Cookery (minimum Cert 3) or equivalent
- Strong understanding of food allergens and special diets compliance
- Food Safety Supervisor Certification
- Good computer literacy – proficient in word and excel
- Great time management and attention to detail
- Punctual, reliable and a team player
- Strong understanding of COGS control
