To assist in the provision of services in Capital Modelling and reporting to ensure appropriate capital management at all levels within the company

The opportunity
QBE are seeking an experience Capital Modelling Analyst to assist in the provision of high-impact actuarial services within QBE’s Group Capital Modelling function.
In this role you will contribute to a wide range of Capital Modelling activities, with an additional focus on developing and improving modelling processes to promote the use of economic Capital Modelling across the wider business.
Your new role
You will utilise your skillset to, amongst other things:
Support business decision-making processes such as, but not limited to, capital management, risk management, reinsurance, catastrophe aggregations, reserving, and asset-liability management.
Support the development and maintenance of the global capital model, including prioritisation and implementation of proposed model developments, and management of model releases.
Perform analysis to determine the capital needs of the business.
Contribute to the use of the model for capital allocation, risk appetite monitoring, operational risk modelling, reserving variability analysis, and analysing reinsurance options.
Performing validation and ensuring appropriate checks are performed within processes to minimise inaccuracies.
Crafting reports and presentations for internal management and regulators.
Network with QBE Actuarial, Risk, Reinsurance, and Exposure Management functions globally, so as to enable appropriate consistency of process, and encourage the sharing and adoption of standard methodologies.
About you
To succeed in this role you will need:
A solid understanding of industry best practice in actuarial analysis and modelling, preferably with Global Insurance experience
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience
Degree in actuarial or other mathematically focussed areas.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Expert user in Excel and other analytical tools. Able to conceptualize and lead others in their use for solving specific problems
