Form of workAbout the Role:
Joining our Regional Services team, you will work closely with dairy farmers and regional networks to ensure engagement with the Research, Development and Extension programs that Dairy Australia offers in relation to Carbon Farming.
As a Carbon Farming Extension Advisor, you will drive and lead the uptake and delivery of Carbon Farming Outreach Program (CFOP) activities with dairy farmers to support their uplift of knowledge of Carbon Farming and carbon markets. The approach will drive maximum practice change to achieve profitability and sustainability improvements on dairy farms.
Key to success in this role will be your ability to provide insights around the opportunities, risks and benefits of Carbon Farming and you will support planning, delivery and evaluation of relevant Extension initiatives, with support from our Development team, to ensure our programmes and resources are meeting the needs of farmers and support change on farm.
We have 3 fixed term contracts available until March 2026 with travel required to support delivery of programs across our various regional locations. We are flexible as to your location within Australia.

Technical expertise in carbon, climate, environment or soils with demonstrated experience in agriculture or related RD&E experience combines with relevant Tertiary qualifications would be highly regarded.
Demonstrated experience in working with farmers and groups of farmers, including the delivery of information and programs will strongly support you in this role, including the ability to adapt delivery to suit different audiences, as will your strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
You will also understand how technology can make an impact in extension and will utilise our CRM (Salesforce) to promote events and capture data that will guide and support the programmes and innovation we deliver.
