Job description

The Cardiology Department at Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service (SCHHS) is a busy tertiary referral unit that provides diagnosis, consultation and intervention across all areas of cardiology. The department has a strong focus on providing comprehensive patient centred care and education to doctors in training.

The Cardiac Imaging Fellow role will largely focus on participation in the performance and interpretation of all aspects of echocardiography. The successful applicant will also be involved in the cardiac MRI programme developing skills in acquisition of imaging, post-processing and interpretation of cardiac MRI studies.

About the role

  • Performance, supervision, and reporting of transthoracic echocardiography.
  • Supervision and reporting of exercise and dobutamine stress echocardiography.
  • Performance and reporting of transoesophageal echocardiography, including 3-D analytics and procedural studies.
  • Performance and interpretation of cardiac MRI studies.

Role requirements

  • Completion of 3 years of advanced training in cardiology with FRACP (or completion planned prior to 2025) is required.
  • Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and possession of a current annual licence.

Generous remuneration package, comprising base salary range: $165,257 - $182,106 p.a., (+ applicable allowances/benefits) employer contribution to superannuation (12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) L10- L13) (Fixed Term Temporary Full-time up to 12 months, 76 hrs p/f) Applications will remain current for the duration of the vacancy.
