About Us

Waratah Respite Services is a not-for-profit organisation that provides flexible respite services in Coffs Harbour and the surrounding districts since 1987. We offer centre based social support and respite care in Coffs Harbour and Woolgoolga as well as flexible overnight respite in our Maureen Guthrie Cottage for older people, those living with dementia and their carers.

About the Role

We are currently seeking  Casual Care Service Employees with the possibility for future Part Time positions. Hours of employment would be 10:00am - 6:30pm although other shifts could be available.

A Care Service Employee (CSE) at Waratah Respite Services (WRS) will work as part of an integrated team of carers and under the direction of the Clinical Care Manager/RN. The team will be responsible for providing services that are designed to motivate, re-able and enhance the independence and wellbeing of our clients.

The CSE will be responsible for attending to the personal care and social support needs of overnight clients, in accordance with established policy and procedures, and individual care and/or support plans.

Essential Criteria

• Certificate III in Individual Support or other equivalent qualification
• Current First Aid Certificate or the capacity to obtain the required qualification within four (4) weeks of the commencement of duty
• Has a current satisfactory Criminal Record Check
• Has received the 2023 Influenza vaccination and willingness to update on an annual basis
• Has received a minimum 3 doses of the COVID-19 Vaccination
• Has the physical capacity to provide personal care and the ability to assist clients
