Southeastern and Eastern Melbourne Regions

Part Time Basis

  • Competitive base rates: $31.05 - $34.69 p/hr (dependant on qualifications) + super

Your new role

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Care & Support Worker to join our team on a Part Time basis for 15 to 25 hours weekly. We offer the option to take on additional hours depending on your availability. You will be working across our community care program-based in the Southeastern and Eastern Melbourne regions and surrounding suburbs, assisting our clients in their homes. So – what is a day in the life of a Community Care & Support Worker?

No two days will be the same in this fast paced and dynamic role. In your new role, some of the requirements will include:

  • Community Support: escorting our clients on community outings e.g. shopping trips, excursions, lunches, appointments
  • Transport: escorting our clients to medical and allied health appointments, hospital visits and respite care
  • Domestic Support: cleaning, tidying, changing bedding to ensure a safe, clean and sanitized environment for our client
  • Personal Care: showering, oral care and  continence management
  • Medication Assistance: Administering and monitoring medications, assisting with dressings and basic observations
  • Food Preparation: preparing, cooking and serving of meals

What we will need from you:

  • Completed or about to complete studying Certificate III/IV in Aged Care/Individual Support OR Currently enrolled in 2nd/3rd Year Nursing (EEN/RN)
  • Medication endorsement is favourable, but not essential
  • Prior experience in Aged or Community Care (preferred)
  • Geographical understanding and willingness to travel
  • A non-judgmental approach with the ability to work with people from varying socio-economic backgrounds

Successful applicants will be required to undergo a NDIS Worker Screening Check and Police Records check. Refusal to provide your information to both of these parties will prevent Wintringham from being able to continue with your application.

Applicants who have lived in a country other than Australia for a period longer than 12 months in the last 10 years may be required to undergo an International Police Check.

Successful candidates will be required to comply with the Wintringham Health and Immunisation policy including having three doses of a COVID-19 vaccine as well as a 2024 Influenza Immunisation vaccination before commencing employment and must provide evidence.
