We are looking for a Fire Door Specialist/Carpenter to deliver exceptional service to clients by ensuring the proper installation, repair, and maintenance of fire doors and related components. The role plays a vital role in delivering effective fire safety solutions to clients, contributing to their overall peace of mind and compliance with regulations.

Here’s a snapshot of your day

  • Installation, repair, and maintenance of fire doors and related components.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant fire safety regulations, building codes, and industry standards.
  • Conduct inspections and assessments of fire doors to identify any deficiencies or safety hazards.
  • Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and other relevant parties to ensure timely completion of fire door installation projects.
  • Provide expert advice on fire door specifications, materials, and hardware selection.
  • Perform fire door testing, including smoke seal and fire seal testing, to verify performance and integrity.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all fire door installations, repairs, and inspections.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to fire door installation and maintenance.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Qualification: Certificate III in Carpentry or equivalent/trade qualified
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in fire door installation, repair, and maintenance.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant Australian fire safety regulations, building codes, and industry standards.
  • Familiarity with different types of fire doors, their components, and installation methods.
  • Strong carpentry skills, including the ability to accurately measure, cut, and install fire doors and their associated hardware.
  • Experience in conducting inspections and assessments of fire doors, identifying deficiencies, and recommending appropriate solutions.
  • Proficient in using tools and equipment specific to fire door installation and repair.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail to ensure proper functionality and compliance of fire doors.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel to different job sites as required.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to all relevant health and safety guidelines.
