We are looking for a Fire Door Specialist/Carpenter to deliver exceptional service to clients by ensuring the proper installation, repair, and maintenance of fire doors and related components. The role plays a vital role in delivering effective fire safety solutions to clients, contributing to their overall peace of mind and compliance with regulations.
Here’s a snapshot of your day
- Installation, repair, and maintenance of fire doors and related components.
- Ensure compliance with relevant fire safety regulations, building codes, and industry standards.
- Conduct inspections and assessments of fire doors to identify any deficiencies or safety hazards.
- Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and other relevant parties to ensure timely completion of fire door installation projects.
- Provide expert advice on fire door specifications, materials, and hardware selection.
- Perform fire door testing, including smoke seal and fire seal testing, to verify performance and integrity.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all fire door installations, repairs, and inspections.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to fire door installation and maintenance.
The Ideal Candidate
- Qualification: Certificate III in Carpentry or equivalent/trade qualified
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in fire door installation, repair, and maintenance.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant Australian fire safety regulations, building codes, and industry standards.
- Familiarity with different types of fire doors, their components, and installation methods.
- Strong carpentry skills, including the ability to accurately measure, cut, and install fire doors and their associated hardware.
- Experience in conducting inspections and assessments of fire doors, identifying deficiencies, and recommending appropriate solutions.
- Proficient in using tools and equipment specific to fire door installation and repair.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail to ensure proper functionality and compliance of fire doors.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel to different job sites as required.
- Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to all relevant health and safety guidelines.
