Job Description: We are seeking a skilled Carpenter/Joiner/Cabinetmaker to join our team and specialize in Staircase Installations. The successful candidate will be responsible for working on a variety of projects that involve the installation of staircases, balustrading, and handrails, using a range of materials such as steel, solid timber, MDF, and glass. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality workmanship and meeting the needs of our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Our workshop team will manufacture the staircase components in our Beard ACT, factory. Using a state-of-the-art, Italian made, 5-axis CNC machine and other specialist woodworking machinery.
- Candidate will then install high-end staircases, balustrading, and handrails using a range of materials including steel, solid timber, MDF, and glass.
- Ensure that all work is completed to a high standard and meets industry standards.
- Communicate effectively with clients and other members of the team to ensure that projects are completed on time and to the required specifications
- Maintain tools and equipment to ensure they are in good working order
- Keep accurate records of work completed and materials used
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in carpentry and joinery, with a focus on Staircase Installations
- Provide own vehicle in the form of ute or van with the capability to transport of materials and all your own tools to and from sites around Canberra.
- Strong understanding of carpentry and joinery techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans.
- Experience working with a range of materials including steel, solid timber, MDF, and glass.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail as we are installing high-end staircases.
- A knowledge of relevant standards and BCA compliances.
We will provide you initially with on-the-job-training with the aim to have you working unsupervised when you are ready.
