The Position
The Traffic Controller will contribute by performing highly skilled tasks in assisting with the maintenance/construction of roads, bridges, drainage and other works as directed by the Supervisor Delivery Services or delegate. These tasks will require the Traffic Controller to operate in a complex, dynamic environment as a specialist accountable for delivering the Traffic Management and Control strategy for Council, and leading its implementation, ensuring consistent, efficient and safe operations at our worksites and for road users within the community.
This role will also be responsible for establishing a practice for developing Traffic Management expertise within the Council workforce and, when required, undertake general labouring duties to assist in construction and maintenance of Council’s infrastructure.
About You
You will have a positive attitude, have pride in your work and enjoy being part of a vibrant team that can confidently take on any challenge with enthusiasm. You will have experience in a similar role in the traffic management industry and have Traffic Control and Traffic Management qualifications.
Knowledge of Advisory Standards, Industry Codes of Practice and other legislation and guidelines associated with traffic management is essential.
