The Oral Health Centre of Western Australia are currently seeking expressions of interest from experienced Dental Clinic Assistants to join the casual pool of Dental Clinic Assisting staff.
About the team
The Oral Health Centre is part of the School of Dentistry delivering specialist treatment to eligible patients from the Department of Health and providing suitable patients to the dental student’s programme.
The Oral Health Centre of Western Australia is a collaborative Centre and the primary focus for oral health education, research and specialist care delivery in Western Australia. The Centre will treat approximately 14,000 patients per annum and deliver several clinical and technical training programmes.
About the opportunity
Reporting to the Supervisor (Dental Clinic Assistants), you will provide clinical assistance for dental students and OHCWA clinical staff treating patients. You will conduct infection control procedures, accounting and clinical administrative duties in relation to interactions with patients and assist students and clinical staff with dental health education as directed. You will also ensure equipment, furniture and fittings in the clinic are maintained in good order and maintain the ordering of expendable and non-expendable stores.
About you
To be considered for this role, you will hold a Certificate IV in Dental Clinic Assisting and relevant experience in a dental/medical environment or in a public dental and/or teaching facility. You will also demonstrate knowledge of the latest dental assisting procedures and practices, along with well-developed organisational skills with an ability to prioritise work and train and supervise staff and students.
Note: A Current First Aid Certificate and evidence of Immunisation Status are required.
