About the Role

We have an exciting casual opportunity for an experienced and motivated individual to support our events team. This role will assist in front of house and back of house duties to enable the smooth and efficient arrangements of internal and external functions.

This role will also assist the Building Services section on quieter periods carrying out routine and adhoc cleaning activities to ensure the continuous, safe and proper operation and appearance, of the complex’s common areas

About You

In this position, you will support the organisation by performing duties as directed by the Venue Manager, liaising with internal sections to ensure the smooth set up of events for internal and external clients. 

To be considered you will clearly demonstrate the following essential skills and experience.

  • Relevant work experience in the hospitality / customer service industry
  • Prepared to work week-ends and non-traditional hours as rostered, including late afternoons, early evenings and weekend work.
  • Physical ability to undertake all functions of the role adhering to safety practices. Room set ups, moving trestle tables, stacking chairs etc. 
  • Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office 
  • Basic knowledge of sound and audio-visual technologies
  • Strong listening, written and verbal communication skills 
  • Attention to detail and follow through 
  • Self-motivated and an ability to work unsupervised 
  • Ability to multitask, work under pressure and to meet deadlines 
  • Responsible Service of Alcohol certificate or the ability to obtain 
  • Senior First Aid Certificate or the ability to obtain, and emergency evacuation training (provided by Federation) 
  • Relevant work experience in the cleaning industry, including handling of hazardous materials 
  • Positive attitude to unionism
