We are seeking applications from residents of Campbell Town and surrounding areas to undertake the weekend litter/rubbish collection run. This involves driving our Medium Rigid or Light Rigid vehicles around our towns on both Saturday and Sunday to empty rubbish bins into the collection vehicle.
The role will be approximately 3 hours on both Saturday and Sunday and will be required approximately 5 out of 6 weekends. Availability for 4 out of 6 weekends will be considered for the right candidate.

About the role
Reporting to the Works Supervisor, the successful applicants will provide routine litter collection tasks for a range of community facilities and street locations. The role will be primarily in Ross and Campbell Town, however there will also be a requirement to travel to Longford on some days for which a company vehicle will be provided for travel.
About you
You will take pride in your work and be able to work independently. You will be self-motivated and able to meet deadlines. You will need sound verbal communication skills as you will be interacting with the public as you perform your duties, and you will need to have a sound understanding of the WHS requirements to ensure you work safely.
You must:
- Hold a valid Tasmanian medium rigid drivers licence
- Be physically fit
- Be reliable and punctual
- Undertake and pass a pre-employment medical including a urine drug & alcohol test and a musculoskeletal and fitness assessment
- Hold or be able to obtain a Working with Children's Check
- Be able to provide a police check showing no serious offences
Our Culture and Benefits
Terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Northern Midlands Council Enterprise Agreement. This role is classified as Level 4, Grade A under the agreement, equal to a base hourly rate of $37.1268 per hour inclusive of casual loading. Weekend penalty rates will apply for work performed on Saturday (150%) and Sunday (200%).
