Chisholm is Victoria’s premier public vocational education and training provider, with campuses located across Melbourne and the south east.

We offer more than 400 courses, from Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE)/Victorian Certificate of  Management / Vocational Education and Training Delivered to Secondary Students (VETDSS), through to nationally accredited qualifications such as certificates, diplomas, advanced diplomas, degrees, graduate certificates, graduate diplomas and short courses.

ABOUT THE ROLE 

As a Casual teacher for our VCE and VM programs, you will provide professional teaching and vocational expertise, across all aspects of delivery, planning and performance to ensure excellent outcomes for learners, the organisations that employ them and the communities they serve.

We currently have opportunities to teach the following subjects-

English/Literacy

Health and Human development.

This position focuses on excellence in planning and conducting teaching and assessment. The role also includes resource development and educational administration.

You will be a key and active participant of the Senior Secondary & Pathways Programs and works to promote educational excellence, business growth and student-centred services for the Senior Secondary & Pathways Programs team.
 
Your key responsibilities include-

  • Plan education practices and delivery sessions that reflect the most effective way to engage learners 
  • Ensure that teaching materials and resources meet all regulatory standards, training packages and related requirements 
  • Establish and maintain a positive learning environment, including encouraging students to take responsibility for their own learning
  • Adapt learning and assessment materials to cater for different students, learning environments, facilities, and resources
  • Undertake a range of administrative, coordination, and learning services activities directly related to the areas taught
  • Assist in relation to the establishment, maintenance, and review of teaching programs
  • Maintain a respectful, and safe environment free from discrimination, bullying and harassment 
Usual Work Location

You will initially be located at the Chisholm’s Frankston Campus. However, Chisholm may, at its discretion, due to business needs require you to work from any of its other campuses, locations or sites in consultation with you.

ABOUT YOU

You are a highly motivated individual with well-developed skills in transferring knowledge, including the ability to research, select and use a wide range of learning resources and assessment tools, in addition to a strong understanding of contemporary approaches to education, teaching and learning

Qualifications and other requirements-

  • Registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) 
  • Approved tertiary qualification in Education with a major in a VCE VM related discipline or
  • Professional qualifications relevant to delivery of VCE VM core strands of study 
  •  A record of VCE VM Competency, mapped to VCE VM Core Units engaged to deliver
  • A record of Professional Currency, demonstrating current VCE VM (VCAL) teaching knowledge
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116) or qualifications that meet RTO Standards
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience teaching VCE VM (VCAL) Core Units – Literacy, Numeracy, Personal Development Skills or Work-Related Skills
  • Demonstrated ability to develop VCE VM (or VCAL) integrated delivery models, learning resources and assessment tasks to meet desired learning outcomes and VCAA compliance requirements
  •  Proven success in engaging young people in senior secondary programs to maximise the student experience 
  •  Demonstrated ability to motivate and guide students to optimise their learning outcomes
