ABOUT THE ROLE
In partnership with Victoria Police, G4S operated Police Gaols are the main reception points for people who have been charged by the Police, and people in custody that are required to attend court. The services we provide range from accommodation, escorting people in custody to their court appearance, and 24/7 medical services. All services are designed to ensure the safety and security of people in custody, staff and the community.
We have several Full-Time and Casual Trainee Custodial Officer positions available at the Melbourne Custody Centre (CBD) working across other Police Gaols at Ringwood Magistrates Court, Collingwood Neighbourhood Justice Centre, Moorabbin Justice Centre, and Dandenong Childrens Court with training commencing in April 2024.
As a Custodial Officer working alongside people in challenging situations, a great deal of resilience, maturity, compassion, and empathy is required to promote positive engagement with people in custody and diffuse and manage conflict that may occur.
It's imperative that people are made to feel safe and supported whilst in our care.
