Category Specialist

Airswift is currently in search of a enthusiastic Category Specialist to join a major client on a 12-month contract, stationed at their facilities in Redcliffe, Perth. To advance its green energy agenda and meet carbon neutrality objectives, a significant emphasis will be placed on the client’s Heavy Industry projects involving the exploration and experimentation of diverse technologies tailored for powering mining fleets and rail locomotives.

The Role
This is a Perth based contracting role on an initial 12-month contract on a Monday to Friday schedule.

Responsibilities

• Managing supplier relationships to deliver value effectively.
• Assisting in developing category strategies and overseeing the sourcing process from start to finish in line with Contracts and Procurement policies.
• Supporting in negotiating strategies and contract terms for complex, high-risk, and high-value contracts.
• Ensuring business objectives are achieved through robust governance, compliance management, and proactive risk assessment and management.
• Crafting clear and comprehensive procurement documentation that aligns with product requirements.
• Providing reports, innovative commercial models, and market analysis to inform procurement decisions.

Requirements

• Posses a Bachelor’s degree in commerce, business, law, or construction.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced procurement environment handling multiple packages simultaneously.
• Demonstrated track record of engaging with internal and external stakeholders across various disciplines.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Contracts and/or Category Management (Principal and/or Manufacturer) within Mining or similar Heavy Industries.
• Exceptional written communication skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Proficiency in applying various commercial models to achieve optimal cost and schedule outcomes.
• Thorough understanding of contractual concepts to facilitate proactive and efficient contract negotiation.
