Opening in the second half of 2024 and featuring 155-rooms, three meeting spaces, a fitness centre and a bar and restaurant, Crowne Plaza Adelaide, Mawson Lakes, will be a highly sought-after destination for business and leisure travellers alike.

The moment a guest steps into one of our hotels, they walk into a genuinely memorable experience. That goes for our events guests as well! To bring this experience to life, and create memorable conferences, functions and weddings, we are looking for an innovative and passionate Catering & Events Executive (pre-opening). This role is crucial in ensuring the successful launch and operation of the hotel’s event facilities and department from opening day and beyond.

A little taste of your day-to-day

Every day is different, but as part of the pre-opening team, you will play a key role in ensuring this new hotel is ready to cater for its first events, including: 

  • Collaborating with the Director of Sales & Marketing and BDM to develop strategies for attracting events clients. 
  • Building relationships with potential clients such as event planners, corporate clients, wedding planners, and other individuals or organizations interested in hosting events at the hotel, through networking, attending industry events, and conducting outreach.
  • Developing sales collateral such as brochures, presentations, and menus to showcase the hotel's Catering and event capabilities, effectively communicating the hotel's offerings and differentiating it from competitors.
  • Actively soliciting and booking events for the hotel's spaces, such as conferences, weddings, banquets, and meetings, negotiating contracts, coordinating event details, and ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Supporting the recruitment and training of operational event staff as needed, on the hotel’s facilities, service standards and event protocols.
  • Collaborating with other departments, such as food and beverage, operations, and finance, to establish efficient processes and systems for Catering and event operations, including creating event planning templates, booking systems, and invoicing procedures.
  • Collaborating with other departments such as kitchen and housekeeping, on the seamless planning and execution of events such as menu planning and room setup logistics.
  • Organising showcases to introduce the hotel's Catering and event spaces to potential clients and industry partners.

What we need from you

  • Bachelor’s degree / higher education qualification / equivalent in event management, sales or related field.
  • Experience in a hospitality or hotel environment preferred.
  • A demonstrated capability of collaborating with multiple stakeholders and managing competing priorities.
  • Strong communication, organisation and time management skills.
  • Must be fluent in English and other languages preferred.
  • Full working rights in Australia without restrictions.
