We are seeking a values-driven and proactive Catering Assistant/Café Barista for our newly established community Cafe (The Gateway Cafe). The successful applicant will be an integral part of the Community Café Team offering excellent hospitality in collaboration with Hornsby Corps. Reporting to the Corps Office, this is a Casual position based in Hornsby, NSW.

Salary and conditions are in accordance with the Food & Beverage Restaurant Industry Award, Level 3. You will successfully Be responsible for the opening, closing and setting up of the Café.

Serve visitors promptly and politely. Record orders clearly and accurately. Attend visitor complaints in a timely manner and in consultation with the Team Leader or Corps Officer.

Prepare beverages and food in a timely manner and to Visitor/Community Member/Guest satisfaction. Check Food daily for quality assurance.

Ensure food handling procedures are adhered to at all times. Ensure all stock orders are checked upon arrival. Perform cleaning duties in accordance with the Café cleaning schedule program.

Ensure Personal Protective Equipment is used at all times. Report of incidents/hazards immediately to the Team Leader or Corps Officers. You will have Minimum Safe Food Handling certificate.

Barista qualification/certificate and/or experience (highly desirable). NSW Working with Children Check.

The physical ability to safely push, pull, lift, carry items up to 10 kilos in weight.
