Toorak College is seeking a casual Catering Assistant to join a supportive, dynamic and engaging catering department. We offer an environment where you'll thrive and grow, with comprehensive training provided, you'll have all the tools to excel in your role and beyond!
Role & Responsibilities:
Working under the direction of the Catering Manager or Head Chef, the Catering Assistant will support the team in the delivery of food services and events. This is an excellent opportunity to learn and develop new skills within a highly supportive and friendly team, with training to be provided for the successful candidate.
Tasks may include:
- Assist with kitchen hand duties and food services.
- Providing front of house food service during events, ensuring timely and efficient service.
- Ensure cleanliness and hygiene standards are maintained in the kitchen and serving areas.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance culinary skills and knowledge.
- Follow health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment for all staff and customers.
About You:
The ideal candidate will have a can-do attitude and be eager to learn. You will be customer oriented, organised and will have:
- Have a genuine interest in the hospitality industry, including food service and be willing to learn all areas of a commercial kitchen setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- A proactive attitude with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, use initiative to achieve results with a customer service focus.
- Possess a high level of physical fitness sufficient to meet the demands of the role, you will be on your feet consistently.
- Be willing to obtain appropriate industry certificates, such as Food Handler's Level 1, RSA, First Aid Level 1.
- Current driver's license is highly regarded, but not essential.
