About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to work as our Cellar Door Chef. You will play an integral part in continuing to shape our future direction as a world-class hospitality venue.
The role is based over a 7 day roster, the successful applicant must be able to work weekends and on occasion, evenings for functions and events. A level of flexibility is required.
The Bird in Hand Estate features an extensive Kitchen Garden which will be available to you. Furthermore, the Bird in Hand ethos centres on sustainability and respect for the land, and these values will permeate the menus we develop and share with our guests.

- Preparation and presentation of dishes, reflecting the delectable blend of modern Australian influences.
- Upholding strict adherence to food safety and hygiene standards, ensuring the safety of our valued patrons.
Requirements:
To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:
- Proven experience as a Chef, even better in a Cellar Door environment, demonstrating expertise in diverse cuisines and cooking techniques.
- Passion for food and wine pairing principles, with the ability to bring focus and precision to each dish.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills, enabling efficient kitchen operations.
- A team-oriented approach, thriving in a collaborative and fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Currently living in South Australia, with full rights to work in Australia.
