AddressMillingtons Cemeteries are recruiting a full-time Grounds Person to join our team at Cornelian Bay Cemetery. Hours - 5 days per week, 8.00am - 4.00pm.
Applicants with the following knowledge, skills and competencies will be considered:
- Manual Drivers License
- Physically fit
- Knowledge and skills in horticulture
- Ability to work as a team member as well as autonomously
- Good personal presentation particularly when representing Millingtons Cemeteries at burial services, together with sound communication skills.
- A formal qualification in horticulture or a willingness to undertake an approved course towards such qualifications is highly desirable
Works Description:
- Maintain and develop the cemeteries, including lawns, grassed areas, burial sites, water and irrigation systems, spraying program, brush cutting, ride on and push mowers, niche wall and rose bed memorials, plantings, trees, paths, machinery and equipment.
- Prepare burial sites and place cremated remains and memorial plaques.
- Liaise with Funeral Directors, monumental masons, grave digger and the public and assist where necessary during funeral services.
