Cemetery Groundskeeper

Location: Multiple positions across Adelaide, SA. 

Position Type: Casual positions with Maxima Labour Hire. Full Time and Part Time hours available. 

Hourly Rate: $31ph + Super 

Are you passionate about maintaining a serene and respectful environment? Join our client's team as a Cemetery Groundskeeper and contribute to the peaceful and well-kept final resting place of our community members.

Responsibilities:

1. Grounds Maintenance: Perform routine landscaping duties, including mowing, trimming, and edging to ensure the cemetery grounds are impeccably maintained.
2. Gravesite Care: Oversee the preparation and backfilling of gravesites, ensuring they meet established standards. Assist in the placement of markers and monuments.
3. Planting and Pruning: Maintain trees, shrubs, and flowers within the cemetery. Plant new greenery as needed and prune existing plants to enhance the overall aesthetics.
4. Irrigation Management: Monitor and maintain irrigation systems to ensure proper watering of plants and grass, especially during dry periods.
5. Pathway Maintenance: Keep pathways clear of debris, leaves, and snow to ensure safe and accessible passage for visitors.
6. Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain groundskeeping equipment such as lawn mowers, trimmers, and leaf blowers.
7. Collaboration: Work closely with other cemetery staff to coordinate and execute various tasks related to events, burials, and grounds maintenance.

• Proven experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, or a related field.
• Ability to operate and maintain groundskeeping equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a respectful and peaceful environment.
• Physical stamina and ability to perform tasks that may require lifting and manual labor.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Sensitivity and respect for the emotional nature of the cemetery environment.
