OverviewWe have an opening in the
Central Sterile Supply Department (CSSD) at Clare Hospital for a CSSD Technician to contribute to the effectiveness of sterilisation services.Performing work under limited direction, the CSSD Technician works as an effective team member, and as an individual, to determine and appraise methods of:
- work organisation
- maintaining recording systems
- optimum standards of sterilisation, and
- stock supply including the provision of equipment to the wards.
The CSSD Technician duties include (but not limited to):
- sterilising surgical equipment
- managing quality and safety processes with an infection control focus to ensure safe provision of surgical services
- working collaboratively as part of the theatre team
- supporting the development of staff new to the role
EligibilityTo be eligible to apply, applicants must have completed an AQF Certificate III in sterilising technology with more than 500 hours satisfactory in service experience working in a CSSD. Applicants must also have the ability to work independently, within exact timeframes and have sound knowledge of instruments, sterilising methods, infection control principles and of general hygiene.More information can be found in the Job Pack below.
