As a Cook at Goodstart, you'll create delicious, healthy meals that fuel young minds and bodies, becoming a cherished part of our community. Your passion for food and commitment to quality will play a crucial role in shaping the daily experiences of the children in our care.
In this role, you will:- Support the health and wellbeing of children through planning and preparing nutritious food
- Ensure the safety of children by preparing meals to account for special dietary requirements and allergies
- Use your creativity and organisational skills to plan the menu and order food supplies in consultation with the Centre Director
- Maintain high standards of food safety by ensuring all storage, handling and preparation of food and drinks is hygienic
- Work a part time roster of 27.5 hours per week, no night shifts, no split shifts and no weekend work!
About Goodstart Pialba:We are a small, 74-place centre with long-term staff, most of whom have been with us for 5 to 15 years. We are proud to say that our staff speak a variety of languages, including Māori and Italian, which is included into our diverse programming for the children in our care. We also enjoy incorporating our families' cultures into the curriculum, helping to strengthen the connection between home and the centre. You'll need:- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or experience cooking within a childcare setting
- Current Queensland Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
