An excellent opportunity is available for a Centre Coordinator to join the Centre for Biologic Therapies at Australia's pre-eminent biomedical research institute. About the PositionThe Centre for Biologic Therapies is an exciting new joint initiative between WEHI and long-term collaborator CSL to support the development of biologically based medicines. The Centre combines WEHI's expertise in immunology, cancer, inflammatory disorders and infectious diseases with CSL's world-class human antibody library and experience in biologics drug discovery and development. Its overarching objectives are to deliver novel lead therapeutic candidates as treatments for human diseases using CSL's human antibody phage display library and WEHI's nanobody platform, coupled with advanced antibody engineering and optimization technologies.An experienced Centre Coordinator will help create a world-leading Centre for Biologic Therapies and support the centre in relevant areas. The appointee will ensure that the Centre runs efficiently by providing high-level administrative, regulatory and budgetary support. This person will liaise between the Centre, all institute departments, CSL and key external organisations. Selection CriteriaPersonal qualitiesProven ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage priorities to meet deadlines on multiple concurrent tasks.Proven aptitude for communicating effectively with various audiences; excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.Ability to maintain confidentiality, discretion and sound judgment.High levels of accuracy and attention to detail.Consistent demonstration of initiative; able to rapidly adapt and respond to changes in environment and priorities.Knowledge and skillsStrong computer literacy and proficiency using a range of software packages including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook) and Adobe Suite (Acrobat and Illustrator). Aptitude in the Macintosh environment and Workday are preferable.Demonstrated ability to understand and prepare scientific documentation, including taking minutesExperience in preparing and monitoring budgetsStrong administrative and/or business experience in a medical research or academic environment.Laboratory experience and/or relevant qualifications such as a BSc (Hons) or PhD in the Life Sciences is desirable but not essential.Terms of AppointmentThis position is available for two years in a part-time capacity 0.5 FTE. Salary is Professional Services Employee (PSE) Level 6 ($88,811 - $96,133).
