The Uniting Church in South Australia (UCSA) comprises of more than 250 congregations conducting extensive and diverse mission activities across the state.
The iconic Adare Camp and Caravan Park, located in Victor Harbor aims to provide exceptional Christian hospitality to church and school groups, community organisations, wedding and caravan park guests.
An opportunity exists for a permanent full-time Centre Manager to provided effective oversite of day to day operations including responsible management of all staff, services, systems, buildings and equipment.
The Centre Manager is an integral part of the Uniting Venues SA (UVSA) Management Team and has an emphasis on providing confident leadership and effective management of Adare’s operations to assist Uniting Venues SA to provide exceptional Christian hospitality.
Reporting to the Group Manager UVSA, the Centre Manager’s key tasks are:
- provide confident and positive leadership, lead by example, encourage teamwork at all levels, open and honest communication, a cooperative approach to the achievement of goals and the vision of UVSA.
- demonstrate, by leading by example, the provision of exceptional Christian hospitality resulting in excellence in customer service assist with the movement and set-up of equipment used by guests
- maximise occupancy and income opportunities, in consultation with the General Manager UVSA, and manage casual staffing levels and expenditure within budget / forecast.
- grow the capability and capacity of team leaders and the broader team by providing regular and constructive feedback about performance and effectiveness.
- manage risk and compliance whilst ensuring adherence to WHS, HACCP and UCSA / UVSA policies and procedures
- provide effective oversight of routine and preventative building, equipment and grounds maintenance.
The successful applicant will be required to have significant experience in a similar position and successful completion of a Diploma level qualification in Hospitality, Outdoor Recreation, Education, Community Development or associated discipline. In addition, the successful applicant will have:
- demonstrated well developed interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and mentor others
- ability to organise and utilise financial, physical and human resources in an efficient and effective manner
- ability to delegate, manage, empower and inspire staff in achieving organisational goals.
- experience in management of senior staff and team leaders with a multi-disciplinary staff environment
Experience within the camp and group accommodation industry will be highly regarded. Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills are a must in this role, as is your demonstrated commitment to a mainstream Christian denomination.
