Form of work4 Year apprenticeship on the job including 3 years at TAFE
About the Role: Parks and Gardens apprentices maintain and care for all aspects of garden and lawn maintenance including residential, local parks, recreational areas and commercial premises.
Duties: Pruning, planting, hedging, mowing, identifying plants, using fertilisers and chemicals, maintaining irrigation systems, identifying pests and diseases, shaping branches, using various machinery and advising on general tree and garden care.

- All training is completed on the job including 1 day per week at TAFE
- TAFE is a paid work day and no fees!
Sydney - Parramatta: Most work is commercial maintaining strata residences, parks and some residential. Long term career path for right person. Our host has won many awards for their outstanding work. Drivers licence and white card required. Public transport is available for most sites. Must be fit for physical work.
North Sydney: You will be maintaining and caring for the parks and gardens in Lower North Shore area. Hours are Monday to Friday 6.30am to 3.30pm with a flexible rostered day off each fortnight. Drivers Licence is preferred, however not essential. Must be well presented for public contact and have good communication skills.
- School students are welcome to complete 1 weeks work experience with a view to commencing the apprenticeship if suitable.
South Western Sydney: You will be trained in maintaining and caring for lawn at sporting grounds and parks in commercial premises. This is a full time position with some overtime required. TAFE is a paid work day and there are no TAFE fees. Driver Licence (not L's) and own transport is highly preferred.
Australian Training Company is a Group Training Organisation employing apprentices and trainees then placing them with host employers. ATC pay wages, superannuation and all payroll entitlements.
