Eltham Woods Childcare Cooperative is a community based non for profit centre located in a quiet street of Eltham. We are a small high quality, well-resourced centre with an impressive reputation throughout the community. About the role

We are seeking a full-time or Part time employee to join our team. The centre is open from 7am-6.30pm Monday to Friday, you need to be available to fill shifts between these hours on your assigned work days.  

Responsibilities of the role

Responsibilities for the successful candidate: 

  • Use a wide range of teaching methods (stories, media, indoor or outdoor games, drawing etc) to enhance the child’s abilities
  • Follow a full schedule of activities and routines
  • Creating and maintaining an inclusive, fun, safe, healthy, productive and effective learning environment
  • Creating and maintaining excellent relationships with children, families and other team members
  • Ensuring compliance with routines, policies, processes and practices

Skills, experience and requirements

We’re looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

  • Desire to work with children and demonstrated capacity to enhance their experiences
  • Genuine interest in working with children and the desire to work with children
  • An ability to work cohesively with a small team
  • Certificate III or Diploma in Children's Services or currently studying either
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Proven willingness to learn and improve
  • Passion, enthusiasm and a strong commitment to high quality care
  • Current Working with Children check, First-Aid Certificate, Asthma and Anaphylaxis training
