Certified Ski Race Coach

Mt Buller Ski & Snowboard School are seeking suitably qualified Alpine Race Coaches to join our dynamic team from around the globe. If you are certified with coaching qualifications and have coaching experience, there are opportunities to work with the Mt Buller Race Club and Mt Buller Ski & Snowboard School. The Mt Buller Race Club offers training opportunities for children from 10 - 18 years of age.

Positions available include:

• Full Time (6 days per week) This is a full time race program with athletes training each morning (3.5 hours) across the winter season
• Part Time (30 days across the winter season - 6 hrs per day). The part time program is offered to athletes over the School Holiday and each weekend over the winter.

* Please note: When the race programs are not operational it is a requirement for coaches to work as an instructor delivering class and private lessons within the Ski & Snowboard School. Successful applicants will be required to instruct a variety of lessons.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Teaching/coaching ski racing to children (U10 to FIS Age - pending group allocation)
• All associated course setting and safety for training venues
• Assist in preparing children for competitions
• Provide parents and athletes with progress reports.
• Assisting guests in identifying the best lesson options for themselves and family member
• Assisting with overall guest service around the resort and especially in the Ski and Snowboard School meeting places
• Driving return business through outstanding delivery of lessons to our guests.

We're looking for people with:

• Ski racing qualifications & experience
• Instructing certifications minimum APSI Level 2 or approved international equivalent (highly advantageous)
• Previous teaching/coaching experience with a bona fide ski and snowboard school and/or race club
• Available for work from the 17th June to 22nd of September 2024 (6 days per week) - please note all new employees will be required to undertake two days of training on the 20th & 21st of June.
• Excellent communication and guest service skills (fluent English)
• A positive, flexible attitude and the ability to be a team player
• Ability to maintain a pleasant, professional manner under pressure and during extremely busy times
• Neat and well groomed appearance
• Your own ski/snowboard equipment including helmet
• Ability to promote and up sell private lessons at specific times for mutually beneficial rewards.
• All successful candidates will require a Victorian Working with Children's Check (this can only be attained when in Victoria, Australia)

Sponsored visas are available for international applicants with suitable qualifications (generally Level 3 and above). Working holiday visas are also available for international workers who do not meet the minimum requirements for sponsored visas. Interviews:

Interviews will be conducted for all shortlisted candidates by the Ski & Snowboard School Manager. These interviews will be conducted via video on 'Teams' at a mutually convenient time from January through to mid March (or earlier if all positions are filled).
