This is an exciting opportunity to become the first CFO hire for an entrepreneurial PE-backed consulting firm. Offering a range of niche strategy & advisory services across a national practice, our client is targeting very high growth in the next 3-5 years. As CFO, you will play a crucial role in supporting the leadership team with both financial and non-financial strategic decisions which will help accelerate the growth and success of the organisation.
The business is well run, and the executive team has a proven history of success. The CFO will contribute broad responsibilities across end-to-end accounting, commercial matters and M&A integrations.
The Challenge
Reporting to the Founder/CEO and board, some key responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing all aspects of financial management, including financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, management reporting and financial control
- Collaborating with the CEO and other senior leaders to develop and execute the company's growth strategy and profitability targets
- M&A work such as investment appraisal and analysis, and integration of acquired companies’ finance and corporate functions into the business
- Managing and overseeing the taxation affairs of the organisation and liaising with the external tax firm for specialist advice
- Assisting in contract negotiations and structuring
- Managing banking relationships
- Leadership of the finance and administration team to ensure the production of timely and accurate standardised monthly financial statements and management reports.
You are an existing CFO or experienced senior finance executive with a passion for being part of the business and working with the founders. You will have a proven track record of success with a scaling private or PE-backed company.
You have a highly professional style and experience presenting to PE, Boards or ELT teams. Your broad experience includes exposure to M&A or FDD, and you’re strong on systems and processes. You are hands-on and tech savvy, comfortable using Xero and associated project management software. Experience working in a professional services or high growth business will be viewed favourably.
It’s a given that you have a strong education, CA qualification and 7+ years relevant experience in senior finance positions. Most likely, you will have been trained in the Big 4.
