Retail Technology Integrated Channels (IC) provides end-to-end technology for our customer facing channels: Customer Service Network (Branch), Contact Centres, Collections, Retail Marketing and Regulatory Compliance.

We support over 10,000 front-line employees as they provide state-of-the-art service to the Bank's customers using critical services such as ATMs, Branch Technology, Contact Centre Technology, Sales systems, as well as Customer Feedback technology and Digital Marketing Capabilities.

Our team takes a product management and design excellence role, liaising with business stakeholders and working closely with technical project teams to deliver new features and functionality.

As a Systems Engineering Manager (PCC) – Chapter Lead, you’ll be providing expert advice relating to technology, solution design and architecture, people leadership and hiring to drive excellence in technical delivery as per group engineering practices and standards. You will bring a perfect blend of people management, technical expertise and will be responsible for shaping the evolution of technical squad through contribution to the technology strategy, quarterly crew memo, prioritise backlog, define delivery roadmap, and determine which problems to invest in solving.

We serve a large base of bank agents who interact directly with our customers. You’ll be part of the Simple Better Collections Crew. This crew is replacing existing Collections systems with a modern vendor-provided Collections application that can be integrated into the Group resulting in ecosystem simplification. We do this through building next gen digital solutions using BIAN and BaaS microservices architecture.

  • Established new ways of working, successfully advocated for new technology approaches, with the experience to understand the architectural integration of new software solutions.

Technical Skills:

We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don’t expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with some of these will set you up for success in this team:

  • Tertiary qualification in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics or other related disciplines.

  • A solid track record of leading high-performing engineering teams.

  • Prior experience with Decision Engine Technologies is essential (e.g. Experian PowerCurve v2.4 preferred, others considered: Experian StrategyManagement / Transact / Tallyman)

  • Development and coding experience (such as SQL, Java, XML, Groovy, JavaScript) is essential.

  • Experience with Automation Frameworks is desirable.

  • Understanding of Integration Technologies is desirable.

  • Ability to engage with and communicate to stakeholders.

  • Ability to work independently and/or as part of a team.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
