Novotel Sydney Darling Square and Pumphouse Sydney is seeking AN experienced Chef / Kitchen Assistant to join our team on a Part Time basis. Novotel Sydney Darling Square which is conveniently located amongst Sydney’s CBD, Darling Harbour, Darling Square and ICC precincts is the perfect location for guests whether they’re travelling for business, leisure, or both. Our 230 contemporary accommodation rooms overlook the Darling Square precinct on one side and The Chinese Garden of Friendship on the other.
Sydney’s iconic Pumphouse which has recently gone under an extensive refurbishment is inspired by the venues rich industrial history. The design and concept of the venue is influenced by signature heritage traits of the building once supplying power to a booming city in the late 1800’s, to a microbrewery, and now to Sydney’s newest Bar and Restaurant.
Job Description
Reporting to our Executive Chef you will be responsible for food preparation for our breakfast buffet, Pumphouse Sydney, in room dining, and function service. You will be required to maintain a clean and hygienic work environment, whilst ensuring a high-quality product. In this role you will be responsible for strict stock rotation and minimum wastage. You will be responsible for organising an assigned section and will need to ensure it runs efficiently and productively. You will be required to monitor stock daily, and advise the Sous Chef of product requirements in advance.
Qualifications
Due to the high-volume nature of the role you will be adept at working under pressure in a high-volume environment. You will work well in a team environment as well as autonomously. You will have commercial cookery qualification, and will ideally have experience as a Chef in a Hotel environment.
