Summary:
Immerse yourself in the produce and lifestyle of the Huon Valley as Chef in this award-winning location. Help the team to deliver an honest & local Tasmanian focused menu at the historic Apple Shed & Museum, just 25 minutes South of Hobart.
This role is a full or part time position for the right candidate and would suit a qualified chef that wants to improve their work/life balance. flexible scheduling and minimal nights.
Background:
We are open for lunch 7 days per week, with one dinner service on Friday and 30+ functions per year.
Reporting to the Head Chef and Venue Manager, your role will be hands on as a team member following good kitchen processes to achieve outstanding customer experiences.
Help develop a menu to complement the range of Willie Smith’s award-winning ciders and spirits available at the shed, as well as highlight the amazing seasonal Tasmanian produce available to us.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the team in the creation of seasonal menus and specials
- Assist the team to deliver functions and special events for 30+ functions per year
- Food prep, service, cleaning and quality control of meals going out to customers.
- Support the Head Chef to manage and run all kitchen operations.
Ideal Background / Experience:
- Significant experience in a similar kitchen role
- Experience in a high turnover kitchen with large volumes a bonus
- Experience in menu development and implementation a bonus
- Experience ordering, stock management, and quality control a bonus
- Must have current driver’s license
