Our client is a leading manufacturer of quality carbon materials and chemicals. We are currently seeking candidates for Chemical Plant Operators positions for their site based in Newcastle.
  
These are permanent positions that offer career progression, a lifestyle roster, and an attractive salary package.
  
We are looking for candidates that are seeking long term employment and have a desire to learn all aspects of the plant.
  

Duties will include:

• Working closely with fellow operators to ensure that the plant is operating safely;
• Loading and unloading raw materials;
• Following close instruction from your shift foreman to blend raw materials and products;
• Minimise spillage and maximise the recycle of materials;
• Working to provide a safe and healthy work environment.

  
Successful candidates will have the following:

• Current Forklift Licence;
• Current Confined Spaces training is desirable but not essential;
• Own transport and Current drivers’ licence;
• Experience working within a manufacturing environment;
• An industrial Trade Qualification is advantageous;
• Experience working with chemicals, fuels or gas is desirable but not essential;
• High regard for safety and commitment to ‘Teaming up for Zero’.

  
In addition to the above, candidates will need to under-take a pre-employment medical and if successful, must be in a position to wear a respirator on site in accordance with Health & Safety policies.
